                2011 Evergreen Drift Season Opener

                Picture
Well we'll kick off the season by showing you this SR20DET powered FC rx7. When I saw these guys pull up with this on the trailer a few PGP events ago, I couldn't help but wonder why it said NISMO on the car until they started it. This thing is powerful, and rumor has it he'll be trying out for Pro-Am this year.
                Picture
Casey "Too Flush For Evergreen" Torres was tearing up the track all day with his hatch flying high and his spacers stacked higher. I remember watching his very first drift event last year and can NOT believe this is the same driver, amazing job Casey!
                Picture
Normally when you see Formula D driver Ian Fournier in a 4 door Skyline it's purple and says FATLACE really big on the side, but this is his modest daily version of his beast machine FD car. Even in this R32 he gets the crowds full attention, always a pleasure to watch this guy drive.
                Picture
Galen Callahan's Twin Turbo'd 1jz Cressida was probably the most intense sounding car out there. Today was track day #1 for our good friend Galen, and even with just todays practice runs he has the whole course down, I can only imagine the success he'll have as he keeps going!
                Picture
Hands down I give Lucas Dourado MVP of today. Being only months into owning an s14, and only 3 events deep, he was consistently doing the entire course with a don't-give-up attitude.
                Picture
Really, the only thing I have to say about this Fox Body Mustang is...where did you learn to drift? All day full lock on each corner, billowing smoke, I'm not sure who you are but hats off to you for bringing something different and doing that well.
                Picture
We'll end today with Andrew. This guy is insane, he constantly got better last season, rolls his car, and comes back and starts progressing even faster. If rolling a car is what it takes to be as good as Andrew has gotten then I'll be putting a cage in my car tonight.
                Picture
Even though the old school big dogs didn't drive today like Roland, Walker, Victor so on and so forth, most of them showed up to watch, and the guys who did drive and that does mean all of you, we thank you for getting out there and putting on a show for us to watch, and shoot otherwise sites like these wouldn't be here.

Today was sunny in the PNW, which was odd. Windows even down enough for it to scream spring is on it's way. Our good friend Brandon Thai and his friend Beau Michael went out to shoot Beau's clean s14. Thanks Brandon Thai aka BThai for the great photos of the amazing machine!

                Moving up, but not out

Today our photographer Jesse Ian was picked up by Roland Gallagher, driver of R. Gallagher racing as the teams official full season Formula Drift photographer/videographer. This is going to be a great thing for not only Jesse Ian but MediaPhantasy as a site getting the name out there, as well as much more practice and a lot of networking. We will have full updates and be sharing with RGRs upcoming website, so make sure to keep checking our updates!

                PGP Winter Drift Round 4

Though it was round 4 it was the first event I have been to this year, needless to say I was excited to get out there with new equipment. There were a lot of new and old faces out there with or without new and old cars. The weather was said to be pouring down rain with 90% precipitation, luckily that was not the case and the rain held off until later in the afternoon.
                Picture
I think the MVP of the day would have to be given to Walker Wilkerson in his Kouki s14. The steering angle on his s14 was like nothing I had seen before, after doing some research (asking Walker) I found out that the reason he could get that crazy with it is he had Intec Racing knuckles on which they make for s13's and s14's, and yes ladies and gentlemen they are buyable from INTEC TODAY! And as always Mr. Wilkerson was lighting up the entire track within the first run. Walker couldn't have been happier with the day minus needing to switch out tires at Intec Racing during the event, Walker also wanted to give a shout out to his sponsors Garage Autohero, Intec Racing, Fatlace, and Apexi.
                Picture
Here we have your not-so-ordinary STI. Jason Cancio's rear wheel drive converted STI was looking sick out on the track, with the uniqueness of having an STI drifting plus it sitting nice, low, and definitely not slow we all hope to see Jason at more events.
                Picture
When I had talked to another Garage Autohero sponsored driver, Gleb Antonov the day before he had told me that his main drift car was in pieces and that he was going to drive his missile car or his FD rx7. 2-3 hours late he shows up with this. This is his main drift car that was in said, pieces, and boy was he being serious. Glebs car looked more like a missile car than anything, and that is what a drift car should look like. It's cars like this that can apparently connect turns 2 and 3 at PGP. ;)
                Picture
3rd Garage Autohero sponsored driver, Rob Primo with his clean RHD blue s13 hatch. Word on the track is that he has a new motor in this thing and you can hear it scream loud from far away now. Though we all are always waiting for his s14 to return, this is not a disappointing replacement for now.
                Picture
Levon Bagdasaryan has one of the cleanest s13 Type-X cars around, the only thing I love more than seeing this parked in front of me with full Type-X kit, Bride interior, Work wheels, and it's clean roll cage is seeing Levon get this bad boy out on the track.
                Picture
The turn out today was great, and I didn't quite catch this fellas name but he progressed quite a bit throughout the day, as did everyone out there.
                Picture
Over all it was a good day at the track, no majors accidents other than Daniel becoming not so mint. Great people, good times, nice cars what else more could you want from a day in the northwest. Hope everyone else had a good time, and see you all out there on the 12th!
Quick little video of Daniel Ressa going a little off course, no worries though, he is ordering a new bumper and will be back to mint in no time!

                AW Films goes to Ebisu!

Our local hometown video hero 18 and Famous Abbitt Wilkerson is currently in Japan filing D1 Street Legal in Japan. Here is some raw footage he posted for MotorMavens that I have linked here of Team BURST and an r32 little wreck, check back for updates.

                Evergreen Open Drift 05-23-2010

                Picture
Another memorable event at Evergreen Speedway today, smoke shows, blown tires, and minor crashes, combined with the decently warm weather and free Tims potato chips and you've got yourself a good drift day. Even though 95% of all attending today thought it was going to rain and be a wet track day, no one was upset when it dried up around the time drifting started. Everyone looked like they were having a great time and that progressed throughout the day.

Lets start with Nik Jimenez, 'who? The guy who had this same car only it was green... Oooh him!' brought out his freshly black painted s13 coupe and put on a great show, but I must say, I do miss the green! Roland Gallagher, Ronen Kaplan and Chris Armstrong did a 3 car tandem near the end that defined epic, seriously, no words do it justice so just go look it up. Team Canada had a meeting with a tire pretty hardcore, and from what I heard it was their second crash this weekend? Zack Geng's s13 rubbed through the tires on the way down from BC and then his tranny gave him issues on the first run he had, come back soon buddy, we feel for ya. Overall, not an epic run for the Canadians this weekend!

Rest of the day was a normal event, hung out with some cool people, learned some new stuff, even got to watch a 4 door RWD legacy and his twin colored RX-7 light up the track. If you still think drifting events are only for the drivers, its time to show up and think again.  Thanks for everyone for coming from as far as you did to impress and entertain us!

First Official Pacific PG Drift Event!

                Picture
Hands down one of the best events I've attended in quite some time. Huge shout out to Rob Primo and all the people who made this event happen, to all the drivers who came out to put on a show, especially you Canadian drivers who crossed the border for our entertainment, and to all the spectators that came to watch which in the long term will help us have more events in the future at PGP!

For those unfortunate enough to have missed this event, let me tell you, you missed a lot. Pulling in around 2:30 it was already a decent crowd which only grew from there. As more drivers and spectators rolled in, DJ Dunn Dirty set up, media and volunteers signed in, and people took a look around the drift cars that were set up in the pits.

                Formula D ProAm Round 1

                Picture
Formula-D ProAm Round 1. Well, over-all a great event but a lot went wrong with the cars here today. Victors transmission, Trents motor, Glebs transmission, Andrew Coomes wall meeting, Dustin King's suit not coming in time, Mat Rodgers motor not being finished, Rob Primo not having enough oil pressure, all this still lead to a pretty decent event though. Despite the fact that all that was going on, there were some great runs put down by all the drivers and in the end, Ian Fournier took first place, Mike Phillips took second, and Peter Funatake took third, congrats guys!

More pictures will be up soon, but for now take a look at the few uploaded as well as the video, thanks!

                Sugoi Style Drift Tease Video

I do not normally use youtube but for now it's the quickest upload. Please excuse the quality of the video, and by that I mean the editing, the shaking, AND the picture quality. This was put together on a cheap little pocket camera and I definitely see what needs to be changed for next time as well as what program NOT to use for editing video!

                Sugoi Style Drift Weekend Trip

                Picture
I was not too sure if I wanted to head out to this event. Last years coverage made it look fun but it is felt like quite a trip down for 5 hours of drifting. I got a hold of Ronen Kaplan and we formed a plan to make it not only a managable trip but a good time as well and as soon as we got some tires mounted, we loaded up his car on the sketchy, but perfectly fine, tow bar set up and headed out onto the open road!

Pacific Raceways May 15th Drift Flyer!

                Picture
MediaPhantasy picture flier for PacificRaceways, made my Ian Dillon from Factory 83, thank you sir!

If you don't recall the name from PGP, this will be the same track that the Rally America Demo was at, this time it won't just be the 4 drivers, it will be 15 invited, hand picked drivers to show off there skills. This track is very technical and will be a great event to come watch, plus if you're 21 or older they have the beer garden open!

$15 to spectate, live music by DJ DunnDirty, BeerGarden and concessions!

                04-29-2010 Update shoot

                Picture
Some may remember this car when I personally owned it. It had no motor, no interior, 4 lug, rusted everything, the works. I sold it to a buddy of mine and tonight I got the honor of checking it out and snapping some updated shots.

Updates on this car are crazy for the time it took to get it here. 5 lug conversion with drilled and slotted rotors which are holding on some nicely offsetted MB Weapons, also got the SR20DET swapped in running ISIS FMIC setup, Greddy Type-RS BOV, Walbro 255 fuel pump, CX racing aluminum radiator with dual fans, and Bride Low Max seats with Buddy Club seat rails just to start the list.

Soon this car will be taken to Ray from Garage Autohero to get the wiring finished up as well as some finishing touches, then hitting the paint booth and time to roll the streets! Keep an eye out for what's in store for this ride!

                Random day out! 04-25-2010

                Picture
Today we had a quick little shoot at Siams house with his car that is being put back together after a 2nd crash. Got some decent shots of the new rear fitment, then headed down to Drift Office where Nick Schnell's Cream colored 1j s13 was there so decided to get some quick shots of that. On the way home after mowing down some delicious Wendy's, there was a pretty legit ratrod, or RADrod as we renamed it, that I just had to get pictures of! This guy was a nice guy giving us the thumbs up as I hung out the window to get pictures of his car. Got to love the sun!

                Rally America Drift Demo!

                Picture
Where do I begin with a beautiful sunny day like today? Rally cars, drift cars, motorcycles, and shifter karts. All while being hopped up on NOS energy drinks, the smell of race fuel and burnt tires, how could you complain? (Unless of course you're Abbitt Wilkerson who buckled his fender on his STI on the way home!)

                Evergreen Drift 04-11-2010

                Picture
Let me start off by saying great job to everyone out there, I won't lie either, I was scared with Drift Safari, Team Instant Party, and KPRacing being out of town that the show wouldn't be too great, but I was wrong! The crashes we're great, the sun was out, and the track was lit up!

A special thanks goes out to Brandon Thai for letting me use his lens for almost the entire event, using that helped a lot in deciding if I wanted to spend the money on other lens's  or just continue with my basic set-up! Great job to everyone out there, feel free to message me if you have a specific car you want to see.  Thanks! (For those who can't figure it out, click HERE for the photos!)
